Dr Nancy Almeida joined Appledore Milton Keynes in August 2009. She has studied in one of the most prestigious Dental Universities throughout Europe (University of Barcelona) and at the Premier World Advanced Dental School (Las Vegas Institute). She has also contributed to Scientific Articles in Orthodontics and TMJ Dysfunction, Presented Several Scientific Studies and Practices the Most Latest Advanced Techniques in Orthodontics.

Orthodontics

Prevention (children from 6 to 11 years old)

Interception (teenagers from 12 to 16 years old)

When the dental/functional problem is detected at an early age, it is easier to find the cause(s) of the problem, to eliminate the oral bad habits that is causing the problem and to avoid the problem getting worse throughout the years, by this way, avoiding future complex and expensive treatments, teeth extractions and uncomfortable oral surgeries.

Correction (adults)

Adults are also welcome and they can find a range of selective orthodontic treatments to correct the malocclusion.

TMJ Dysfunction

Sometimes there is an uncomfortable pain in the Temporo-Mandibular Joint which needs to be relieved and treated.

Oral Functions Therapy

When the oral functions are altered (such as oral breathing and immature swallowing), the dental arches change their shape and size and the position of the teeth are also affected as a consequence.
Also, oral bad habits (such as sucking thumb, biting nails, etc.) can change the normal position of teeth.
